"Captain America: Civil War" holds the record for the most heroes ever to appear together in a Marvel Studios film, but even with a cast that large, some fan-favorite Marvel heroes were missing -- including the Merc-With-A-Mouth, Deadpool.

'Pool starred in his own highly-successful film in 2016, but with his movie rights belonging to Fox, the likelihood of him popping up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains slim. Thanks to a fan-made video created by YouTuber Zach Ace, however, we get to see what might have been, as Deadpool interacts with the Amazing Spider-Man.

Ace adapted a Spider-Man/Deadpool GIF from Redditor /u/riceandnori and turned it into a 30-second video of the two heroes greeting one another during the "Civil War" airport battle. As Spider-Man swings away from fighting Captain America, he lands on an airplane tunnel next to Deadpool. With Salt-N-Pepa's "Shoop" playing in the background, Deadpool is seen coloring an image of Spider-Man and himself locked in a warm embrace.

Spider-Man asks the question that's on the lips of every fan seeing the two on the big screen together -- "What are you doing here?" From here, they introduce themselves and Spider-Man swings back into action. As the credits roll, Deadpool sneaks in a very quick sign-off.
