In celebration of its 75th Anniversary, Marvel Comics has a special month of themed variant covers set for October -- Deadpool invading some of the recognizable cover moments throughout the publisher's history. The photobomb covers will span 20 covers in Marvel's line-up, each homaging a different cover from the last 75 years, including homages to "New Avengers" #1, "Marvel Comics" #1, "X-Men" #138, "Inhumans" #1 and more.

"We really wanted to do something fun for our 75th Anniversary," Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel said via press release. "Seeing all these wonderful artists turn in these hilarious covers has been a blast and we can't wait for fans to get their hands on them!"

Themed variant months have started to become more common in comics, thanks to DC Comics' continuing initiative of variant covers month-to-month in 2014, each with a common theme. Marvel has also used Deadpool in the past to provide commentary on the initiatives of its distinguished competition, including a motion cover for "Deadpool" #34, a 53 state birds Deadpool variant for "Uncanny X-Men" #1 and J. Scott Campbell "Siege" #3 variant cover for every 50 stripped cover of select DC Comics issues.
