He was sent to the future as an infant and grew up to become an incredible warrior. His sole purpose is to return to the present day to prevent the apocalyptic future he was living in. It's likely Cable will travel back in time to when Deadpool 2 is set, so surely director David Leitch is going to show the audience Cable's journey to becoming the leader fans know.In the comics, Deadpool and Cable meet when the Merc With a Mouth is hired to kill the cybernetic mutant. Needless to say, the job didn't quite work out for Wade Wilson.

Star Ryan Reynolds recently addressed the potential for time travel in Deadpool 2, saying, "It is possible. Your answers will all be, they’ll be soon. They’ll be coming soon.”

Stefan Kapicic, who voices Colossus, recently told CBR that anything could happen in the sequel. “Well, you can really expect everything," he said. "And, honestly? You can expect unexpected with Deadpool.”

Not only that, the voice actor explained that Deadpool 2 "is going to be funny as hell, and brilliant. And there are going to be, like, huge surprises. That’s the thing that I can say. And I know that this will be a new, totally — how to say that? — a level-up from Deadpool, in many ways. Totally, everything, times five.”

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 sees the return of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Julian Dennison in an unknown role, and Jack Kesy as a villain widely thought to be Black Tom Cassidy. The film opens June 1, 2018.
