While Deadpool 2 actor Julian Dennison takes part in a fair bit of the film's foul-mouthed action, the 15-year-old is actually too young to watch the movie himself.

"I'm 15 and it's R-16 in New Zealand," he admitted Monday during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "So I can't watch it."

Dennison portrays Russell "Firefist" Collins, a powerful young mutant targeted by Cable even as the teen sets his sights on his abusive former headmaster.

"So there's a fundraiser," Dennison continued. "We got a cinema and they were like, 'Oh, yeah, you can introduce the movie, you can do everything, but you're not allowed to watch it.'"

He explained he only saw 2016's Deadpool a few weeks ago, as he was only 13 years old when it was released -- and what he finally did watch was an edited version. "They had to cut out the giant sex montage," he said. "I really wanted to go see it, but Mum wouldn't let me see when it came out."

Despite Dennison's use of profanity throughout Deadpool 2, he revealed his parents "really enjoyed the film." Still, some of his character's vulgar dialogue was left on the cutting-room floor. With director David Leitch assembling an extended version of the film, perhaps some of those alternate takes will eventually be seen.

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 features Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Julian Dennison as Russell, and Jack Kesy as Black Tom Cassidy. The film is in theaters now.
