Deadly Class is in session for its very own pilot episode on Syfy. Deadline reports the network has put in a pilot order for the television adaptation of Rick Remender and Wes Craig's Image Comics series. Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are on board to executive produce.

Launched in 2014, Deadly Class is set in the late ’80s at King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, where the children of the world’s worst crime families send their children to be trained as assassins.

If ordered to series, Deadly Class will join Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson's Happy! and the Superman-themed Krypton on Syfy, as the network looks to expand its comic book programming. Remender had previously hinted that both Deadly Class and Black Science -- the sci-fi adventure he created with artist Matteo Scalera -- might be heading to television, though there has been no update on Black Science as yet.

Remender and Miles Feldsott will write the Deadly Class adaptation, with Sony Pictures TV Studios co-producing with Universal Cable Prods. Banshee's Adam Targum will direct, with Lee Toland Krieger serving as showrunner.

Best known as the directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, the Russo brothers have also served as executive producers on such TV series as Community and Happy Endings.
