Fans eagerly awaiting to see the team-up between Robin and Superboy now have a better idea of how much longer they'll have to wait; after initially being slated for launch in September, "Super Sons" will arrive in February 2017 as part of DC Comics' next wave of "Rebirth" series.

DC made the announcement during the Diamond Retailer Breakfast held at New York Comic Con. The title was originally announced as being written by Chris Burns and Dennis Culver with art by Jorge Jimenez, though CBR has confirmed with DC that writer Peter Tomasi will be taking over, with Jimenez remaining on art. The pair have recently worked together on the ongoing "Superman" title.

"Super Sons" was initially announced as part of the first wave of "Rebirth" titles back in February. At the time, "Super Sons" was slated to arrive in the fall of 2016. Fans got a brief look at the series in March when it was teased via a Twitter video. Details were scarce about the book a few days later when DC announced the creative teams for many "Rebirth" books; all that was revealed about "Super Sons" was a September start date.

Character designs for Damian Wayne and Jon Kent were showed off in April. During a panel at this summer's San Diego Comic-Con International, Phil Jimenez spoke about his role as the designer of "Super Sons." The artist spoked about designing a new Super costume for Jon. “I imagined people at comic-cons wearing this jacket,” he joked. At the time, it was revealed that "Super Sons" would spin out of the events started in "Superman" #3.

"Super Sons" is the third title in DC's second "Rebirth" line of titles. A new "Batwoman" series from writers Marguerite Bennett and James Tynion IV and artist Steve Epting was announced today; "Justice League of America" by Steve Orlando and Ivan Reis is also on the way in 2017.
