Add one more DC Universe staple to the list of visitors to Starling City.

SpoilerTV reports Amanda Waller will be introduced as a recurring character in the upcoming second season of Arrow, in the sixth episode, "Keep Your Enemies Closer." According to the website, she'll be a member of the government agency A.R.G.U.S. (Advanced Research Group United Support) who sends out a team to kidnap John Diggle (played by David Ramsey). The series has previously featured high-ranking A.R.G.U.S. operative Lyla Michaels, who uses the codename Harbinger.

Created by John Ostrander, Len Wein and John Byrne, Waller debuted in the 1986-87 DC Comics miniseries Legends as the head of The Agency (later reorganized into Checkmate), a small, semi-independent branch of Task Force X, who oversaw the activities of the third Suicide Squad. Since then she's been Lex Luthor's Secretary of Metahuman Affairs, the White Queen of Checkmate, and again head of the Suicide Squad. In DC's New 52, she's in direct command of the group, and also formed the Justice League of America.

The character has also appeared on Justice League Unlimited, Smallville and Young Justice, and in the 2011 Green Lantern film.

Word of Amanda Waller's addition to Arrow follows the casting of Caity Lutz as Black Canary, Michael Jai White as Bronze Tiger, Kevin Alejandro as Sebastian Blood and Bex Taylor-Klaus as Sin, and the announcement that a Flash series will spin out of a three-episode arc of the hit drama.

Arrow returns Wednesday, Oct. 9 on The CW.
