For years, news and rumors have surfaced indicating a new live-action Teen Titans show was just around the corner. However, much to chagrin of DC Comics' fans, the Titans project was stuck in production hell; for every step forward, there were two steps back.

The latest announcement, that the Titans series is being developed for Warner Bros. incoming streaming service, appears to be much more than an empty promise. Not only have we been given firm details regarding the series' cast and creators, a job posting on My Entertainment World indicates principle shooting on Titans will begin on September 25 in Atlanta, GA.

Currently, there are four team members who have been confirmed for the series (Dick Grayson, Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy), though none have been cast.

The Titans are described as “a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe,” which may suggest the lineup may reach beyond the traditional membership. A live-action Titans series had been in development at TNT before being shelved by the cable channel in 2014. However, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns pledged in early 2015 that DC still had plans for the project.

Titans will be executive produced by Johns, Goldsman, Berlanti and Sarah Schechter (Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl). The series will air on Warner Bros' new DC Comics-branded digital platform that will launch in 2018. No official release date has yet been announced.
