DC Comics The Fearsome Five

Every superteam has an opposite villainous number. The Justice League has the Legion of Doom, the Justice Society has the Injustice Society, and the Teen Titans have the Fearsome Five. Psimon, Gizmo, Shimmer, Mammoth, and Jinx have been battling the Teen Titans for years and are a mainstay group of villains for the New Teen Titans generation of heroes. They've even continued to go after them when members made up the Outsiders and the Titans.

The Fearsome Five is always entertaining. They make a great threat and have a nice variety of powers. Each of them plays a special role in the battles against the Teen Titans, but the standout member is always Psimon. His powerful telepathic abilities and tendency to manipulate everyone around all the time make him the most fun member of the team to read about.

7 Superboy-Prime Damaged The Teen Titans Like No Other Villain Has

Superboy-Prime from the Infinite Crisis event

Superboy-Prime is the deadliest threat the Teen Titans ever faced. He's not the most powerful enemy they've faced, but he's killed and maimed the most Titans. He's not exactly a Teen Titans villain, but the only people he's ever been scared of were Teen Titans: Superboy and Bart Allen. Both heroes did a lot of damage to him, with Superboy using him as a battering ram to destroy Alexander Luthor's multiversal tuning fork and Bart Allen giving Jay Garrick and Wally West the extra speed boost they needed to trap him in the Speed Force.

Both would die and eventually return to life to help Superman and the Legion of Superheroes defeat him in the 31st century. 6 Blackfire Made The Perfect Foil For Starfire

Comic panel of Blackfire leading her army, with blackbolts

Starfire is a Teen Titans icon. Hiding on Earth after escaping imprisonment by the Citadel Empire, she became a superhero, but eventually, someone came looking for her. That someone was her older sister Blackfire. Her inability to process ultraviolet energy like other Tamaraneans saw her parents picking Starfire to become the next Queen, so Blackfire betrayed her people to the Citadel and hated her sister just about ever since.

Blackfire always made a great contrast for Starfire. Starfire is a good-natured person, a pure soul who wanted to love and protect everyone who needed it. Blackfire was a grasping, bitter young woman, driven mad by her parents' lack of regard. Fans love Blackfire whenever she shows up, as they know they're going to get something epic.

5 The Second Ravager Helped Her Father Against The Teen Titans Until She Reformed

DC Comics' Ravager holding her swords, ready for battle

Deathstroke's hatred of the Teen Titans has wrecked his family in many ways. It's cost him two sons, and he's often blown any shot he's had at redemption in order to destroy the team. His daughter Rose was raised to hate the Teen Titans, blaming them for every ill that had struck the Wilson family over the years. His father manipulated and lied to her from the start, forging her into a new weapon to aim at the Teen Titans' hearts. She'd take her dead brother Grant's mantle of Ravager and attack the team.

Ravanger did her best to make her father proud and destroy the Teen Titans but failed much like he did. However, she eventually joined up with the team and was one of the highlights of the post-Infinite Crisis era of the group. Fans enjoyed her sarcastic wit, and her variation on her father's costume made her a great visual.

4 Brother Blood's Evil Cult Leader Schtick Has Always Been A Fan Favorite

DC Comics Brother Blood with blood dripping from his hands.

The Teen Titans have always been a unique team, and this was especially true during the Wolfman/Perez era. The two creators recreated the Titans from scratch, and this meant peopling their adventures with all-new threats for them to face. One of these was Brother Blood, a cult leader who was able to brainwash an entire country. The leader of the Church of the Blood, Brother Blood is a title that has been paced down for centuries, and in recent years, the Teen Titans have always stood against him.

Religious cult leader villains are pretty rare in comics, so Brother Blood is technically a trendsetter. His first design by artist George Perez was great, grabbing readers' attention right from the jump. Fans came to love the villain every time he showed up, and he's still one of the team's most popular foes.

3 Terra's Short And Tragic Life Left A Huge Impression On Fans

Terra from "Tales of the New Teen Titans" Annual 3

"The Judas Contract" is the most shocking Teen Titans story of all. The reveal of Terra as Deathstroke's mole on the team shocked readers at the time like nothing before or since in Teen Titans history. Fans had just been warming up to Terra, who was a rather cranky but powerful hero. Her betrayal was a watershed incident in Teen Titans history and was matched only by her death, killed by her highly destructive powers as she lashed out at her former teammates and a world she hated.

Terra and her story have stuck with Titans fans for decades. Her perception is vastly different from fan to fan; some see her as a manipulated girl driven by Deathstroke, which ignores many of the facts of the story. Others see her as a participant in her damnation, one who was used but still a willing partner. Either way, fans have loved her for years.

2 Trigon's Threat Brought The Teen Titans

Trigon displays his demonic power in DC Comics

Trigon is the Teen Titans' most dangerous villain. The lord of his own hellish dimension and the father of Raven, Trigon was the threat that brought the New Teen Titans together. Since then, he's been a constant thorn in their side, but especially Raven's, trying to get his prodigal daughter back, so he can take her power for his own.

When fans see Trigon, they know they're going to get a quality story. Another banger of a villain created by Wolfman and Perez, he's a monstrous threat to the team that challenges them in new ways every time he shows up.

Deathstroke armed with guns and swords.

Deathstroke is the Teen Titans' most popular villain by a wide margin. His rivalry with the Teen Titans is intensely personal, blaming them for the death of his son Grant, and he's endeavored to make it just as personal for them. Their battles are the stuff of legend, with Deathstroke using his super-soldier enhancements, powerful weapons, and keen strategic mind to battle the team to a standstill every time they fight.

Deathstroke's amazing fighting style has made him a match for than just the Teen Titans. He's become an enemy for every hero out there, especially Batman, Green Arrow, and Nightwing. He's had several solo books over the years and has starred in multiple TV shows. He's one of DC's top villains, and the fans love him.
