DC Comics has released its August solicitations, which reveal the final issues of "Legion of Super Heroes," "Demon Knights," "Dial H" and "Threshold" set to drop in August. The move by DC doesn't come as much of a surprise -- Diamond's April 2013 sales estimates show the ongoing series as the publisher's four lowest-selling, not-already-cancelled books.

As the latest New 52 launch titles set for the chopping block, "Legion of Super Heroes" and "Demon Knights" will end at issue #23 with two years' worth of issues. "Legion of Super Heroes" struggled to find an audience throughout its New 52 lifetime, and the cancellation of the Paul Levitz-written series means only one title in the Young Justice category of the New 52 remains: Scott Lobdell's "Teen Titans."

"Demon Knights'" numbers have definitely dropped in recent months, and the cancellation comes before the beginning of series writer Robert Venditti's run on "Green Lantern." "Demon Knights" was also the only DC series to explore the creation and development of the DCU during medieval times. With "Sword and Sorcery" also cancelled, it leaves DC's catalogue nearly void of any high fantasy titles.

Fantasy writer China Mieville's "Dial H" was one of the New 52's Second Wave of titles, but it -- like "Legion of Super Heroes" -- struggled to find an audience. Perhaps most notable about the series was that it was a DC Universe book edited by Vertigo editor Karen Berger, who stepped down from her role as Executive Editor and SVP of Vertigo in March. Berger stopped editing the series with issue #10, which released in March.

"Threshold" launched in January under writer Keith Giffen and was notable for both its co-feature on Larfleeze as well as a main story with a remained version of Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew, and Blue Beetle.
