Without villains, superhero comics would get kind of boring. The colorful evildoers of DC have been bedeviling their heroic foes for ages and in all of that time, a lot of blood has been spilled. As much as the heroes try, they can't always stop the villains' rampages and innocent people have been caught in the crossfire. Villains have also been able to kill superheroes and their family members, cementing their terrible threat.

Some villains are much deadlier than others, though. They've wracked up some rather impressive body counts and have no qualms about killing whoever stands in their way.

10 Two-Face's Coin Flips Have Cost A Lot Of Lives

Two Face Flipping His Coin As Batman And Robin Break Through The Glass Above Him

Two-Face is one of Batman's most tragic enemies but that doesn't change the fact the man has become a stone-cold killer. It's all come down to a coin flip for many people and the ones that got the scarred side got a bullet. It's cruel and random but that's just the way Two-Face works. He has no problem at all with putting a bullet between someone eyes because of a coin flip.

While he doesn't have the superhero body count that some villains have, Two-Face has killed a lot of people over the years. He'll go on killing until someone can either cure him of his mania or stop him definitively.

9 Zsasz Is A Monstrous Serial Killer

Victor Zsasz

Batman faces down a lot of deadly criminals but they're usually doing it for a reason; they want money or power or revenge on him personally. None of those motives fit Victor Zsasz. Zsasz is just a serial killer, making a hash mark on his skin every time he kills someone. His body is a road map of murder and he's running out of room to fit more.

Zsasz is a monster, plain and simple. His schemes, if they can even be called that, are about killing as many people as quickly as possible. He's a reprehensible person and every time he shows up, people die.

8 Deathstroke's Murdered A Lot Of People For Money

Deathstroke Stalks Gotham City.

Deathstroke has beaten a lot of DC's heroes in battle and cut a bloody swath through the world. A highly trained Army Ranger even before he became a super soldier, Deathstroke took up mercenary work to make ends meet and since then has killed loads of people, always for the highest bidder. Even with his recent history of losses to Batman, he's still a formidable opponent.

Deathstroke's bank account has grown as his body count has. He kills dispassionately most of the time, although there are times when he makes an exception. Deathstroke goes where the money goes and has taken down loads of people in the pursuit of it.

7 Ra's al Ghul Has Killed Countless People In His Long Life

Ra's al Ghul Stands Proud.

Ra's al Ghul has been alive for a long time. Thanks to the Lazarus Pits, al Ghul has lived for hundreds of years, and in all of that time, many have fallen to his sword. And even more have died by his order. Life is cheap to Ra's al Ghul, which is why all of his schemes usually involve genocide on a massive scale; he's killed so many people over the years, what's a few billion more?

Ra's will stop at nothing to build his power base and fulfill his ultimate goal of "saving" the Earth. Anyone who stands in his way is in danger. He may be a genteel man on the surface but he has the heart of a rabid killer.

6 Reverse-Flash Has Crafted His Own Time Line With Murder

Reverse Flash Stands Victorious.

Reverse Flash is Barry Allen's deadliest villain and has gone down as one of DC's most iconic evildoers. His ability to travel time has been his greatest weapon and he's used it to craft his personal timeline to be exactly what he wants it to be. Reverse Flash time traveled through his past, murdering everyone in his way to make his life go how he wanted it to.

Then, he turned his attention to Barry Allen's life. Traveling throughout Barry's life, Reverse-Flash murdered as many people as he could in order to make his nemesis's existence worse. What he lacks in volume, Reverse-Flash makes up for in malice.

5 Vandal Savage Has Been Killing For A Hundred Millennia

LOKI DC - Vandal Savage

Vandal Savage is one of the Earth's most dangerous immortals almost by default; he's been active for a hundred thousand years. His enhanced physical attributes and intelligence have made him one of the most prolific killers ever. It's impossible to scratch the surface of just how many people Savage has killed over years, as the man has been involved in every major war, even ones forgotten by history.

Life is very cheap to Vandal Savage. He has no greater goal other than self-aggrandizement and will kill anyone in order to get his way. He's been at it for a very long time, preferring to do his own dirty works, and saying he has a body count in the millions wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility.

4 The Sinestro Corps Spread Fear By Murdering Countless Beings

A group of Yellow Lanterns attacking the innocent aliens of the universe

Sinestro has always been a killer and his Corps followed in his footsteps. The Sinestro Corps' initial attack killed hundreds of Green Lanterns and they went on from there, spreading fear and destruction throughout the universe. As a unit, it's impossible to estimate how many have fallen to the Sinestro Corps.

Sinestro's fear-powered rings sought out beings who could spread terror, so nearly every member is a prolific killer. Their power rings made that a lot easier and while they've mellowed out in recent years, the Sinestro Corps has killed many across the stars.

3 Death Is Guaranteed When The Joker Shows Up

The Joker Sitting Above Arkham.

The Joker may not be an immortal killer and his body count can't stand up against thousands of serial killing aliens. However, every one of his attacks on Gotham has taken lives, for no other reason than because he felt like killing swathes of people. Joker's nature is what makes him so deadly, as he'll kill anyone at any time, often just because.

The Joker is one of the deadliest people on Earth or anywhere else. There's no rhyme or reason to his crimes, as even when there's some kind of gain, he just uses it to kill more people in the future. Life's a joke to him and the punchline is a bullet. Or a knife. Or a bomb.

2 Darkseid Created A Society Of Death And Brutality As A Testament To Himself

Darkseid Happyland 3

Darkseid is one of DC's greatest villains. His war against New Genesis has lasted for years and countless beings, on both sides, have died because of him. On Apokolips, untold numbers of lowlies have been brutalized and killed by his orders, and he's personally executed many. Countless societies throughout the Multiverse have been destroyed by Darkseid and his forces.

While most of Darkseid's killing is done by others, it's all done in his name and by his command. A constant refrain of his forces is, "Die for Darkseid!" and that's the way he likes it. It doesn't matter if it's his foes or his forces- in his mind, everyone should die for Darkseid.

1 The Anti-Monitor Destroyed Countless Universes

Anti-Monitor at war Cropped

A lot of people point to Thanos's Snap as the high watermark of comic book casualties but it doesn't have anything on Anti-Monitor's rampage through the Multiverse in Crisis On Infinite Earths. Anti-Monitor proved to be one of the most powerful forces the heroes of the DC Multiverse ever faced, destroying entire universes before the heroes even knew who he was.

There's no other villain anywhere who can match that kind of body count. The amount of beings who died in his terrible quest for power is literally inconceivable. He's by far the deadliest villain in DC history and it's doubtful anyone will ever match him.
