DC Entertainment's "Powerless," a workplace comedy set in the DC Universe, has been ordered to pilot at NBC, as reported by THR.

News of "Powerless" first broke last August, with the show described as similar to "The Office," but set in a world filled with superheroes. It's not yet known what -- if any -- DC Comics heroes and villains may appear in the show, as the series (as the title implies) is focused on regular folks living in the DC Universe.

"Powerless" is one of four comedy pilots ordered by NBC on Thursday. The pilot will be written Ben Queen (creator of NBC's short-lived comedy "A to Z"), and directed by "Reno 911" veteran Michael Patrick Jann. Though there's still a long way between the pilot stage and a series order, the news certainly shows confidence in the early development of "Powerless."
