"Orders for DARK DAYS: THE FORGE and THE CASTING have exceeded our expectations, and we're on a similar track for METAL #1," John Cunningham, DC's SVP -- Sales & Trade Marketing, said (via PreviewsWorld). "That's allowing us to decrease the price of the remaining issues of METAL, which means customers can buy the whole series for five dollars less than before."

Written by Scott Snyder and illustrated by Greg Capullo, Dark Nights: Metal is described as the former Batman team’s “rock ‘n’ roll epic.” According to DC Co-Publisher Dan DiDio, the entire DC Universe is at risk in the event. “Not even just our world,” he said, “but multiple worlds at risk.”

Snyder said in a statement, teasing the event, "I’ve been planning METAL for as long as I’ve been writing Batman, but I want METAL to be built upon the stories happening now in Rebirth. Most of all we want to create new material that feels really modern and different. And above all, it’s going to be fun. Even with terror and nightmares, it won’t be grim. DARK NIGHTS: METAL will be celebratory, huge and crazy.”

On sale for $4.99, Dark Nights: Metal #1 hits stands August 16, 2017.
