David Tennant's doing a bit of double dipping when it comes to his hit British crime drama Broadchurch. In addition to potentially reappearing for the second season of the ITV series, he's also starring in the American remake from Fox, Entertainment Weekly reports.

In the original eight-episode drama, Tennant and Olivia Colman played detectives trying to solve the murder of a young boy. Chris Chibnall, who created the original series, has been tapped to write the premiere episode.

EW described Tennant's role as "an American detective who is the lead male investigator on the case of a shocking murder that puts a small town under scrutiny."

Fox is looking to air its version of Broadchurch, which might get renamed, during the 2014-2015 season.
