Fans of Stephen King's legendary book series will finally get to see the Gunslinger himself, Roland Deschain, brought to life when The Dark Tower hits theaters later this summer. But until then, fans can tide themselves over with a new featurette showcasing interviews from the film's stars, Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, discussing Roland's backstory and what led to his timeless and potential world-ending conflict with the Man in Black.
"Roland Deschain comes from...a legacy of Gunslingers who are put in place to protect the Dark Tower from the Man in Black," Elba explains. "Roland is the last of that line." McConaughey, who is playing the film's enigmatic villain, adds that, "Roland is actually the only one that can bring me [the Man in Black] down."
