As we reported here at CBR over the weekend, director Shane Black took to the stage at Long Beach Comic-Con to discuss the upcoming sequel. During the talk, Black dismissed The Mandarin as a racist caricature and declined to offer the identity of Tony Stark’s next adversary. “Do you want to know when you’re going to die? No! Just wait, you’ll die,” the writer/director quipped.

Mickey Rourke reveals to Coming Soon that it’ll take some heavy negotiations to get him to reprise his role as Marv in the sequel. “I’m claustrophobic, so the the hours of makeup — You have to keep it on for about 13 or 14 hours a day. It’s latex and glue and that stuff that gets my eyes all red,” he explains. “It depends on how bad they want me. You feel me?”

Producer Mark Canton tells Coming Soon that Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad have “nailed” the script for the prequel film. “They’ve done a tremendous job making a highly intelligent, epic story that will stand on its own. But it’s not a conventional sequel and, for what we do, that’s what you hope and pray for. That you can be original and authentic at the same time,” he says.
Heat Vision reports that George R. R. Martin’s superhero anthology is on its way to become a film. The book series revolved around a “shared universe where an alien virus has been unleashed over New York City. Those who survived were turned into either a class of beings named Jokers, mostly deformed creatures, (or more rarely) Aces, who have special powers.” Co-creator Melinda Snodgrass will write the script.
