THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
MTV News roamed the New York set yesterday and learned a few things including:
» “The set is really low-key on the street level, just a bunch of trailers and semis. They’ve taken a much more relaxed approach to this setup. People are walking by and a few are even questioning what’s going on.”
» “Fans down here say they met Gary Oldman.”
» “There are three trailers on 32nd between 5th and Madison: ‘Gordon,’ makeup and ‘Blake.'”
» “We caught JGL leaving his trailer in what looked like street clothes. He quickly threw up his hood.”
The also spotted character actor Chris Ellis from “Apollo 13” and “That Thing You Do” arriving on set. So yeah, “low-key” was the right way to describe it.
Release date: July 20th, 2012
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
It seems Spider-Man will also return to New York, according to On Location Vacations. “The film is expected to do some second unit shoots around the city, possible beginning as early as this week,” they write. I wonder if Spider-Man will be part of the Occupy Baxter Building protest?
Release date: May 28th, 2012
300: THE BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA
The Vulture (via Spinoff Online) reports actor Joel Edgerton is in talks to star in the “300” prequel. Edgerton will play “Themosticles, the famed archon and general who led the Greeks to victory against the invading Persians in 480 BCE.” The name might not be as easy to say as “Leonidas,” but at least he’s a winner.
Release date: TBA
Time for another car crash video from the set (via Comic Book Movie):
Release date: June 28th, 2013
THE WALKING DEAD
Over at the Official AMC blog, actress Melissa McBride (Carol on the show) talks about getting in on some zombie slaying action. “I was talking [to] one of the producers the other day and she said she was walking through the farmhouse and she found a little basket with some knitting needles in there. Wouldn’t that be kind of cool for Carol?” she says. “A couple of knitting needles through some zombie’s head, a little slip-stitch. [Laughs] Carol should have a tool belt with knitting needles and an iron skillet — we’ve got to get her a weapon!”
Just as my tour of “Arkham City” comes to a close, Rockstar releases this:
Yay for a return to Los Santos, but please, Rockstar, give us more of the madness that made “San Andreas” so much fun to play. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of getting lost in the hinterlands between Los Santos and San Fierro.
