Dark Horse Comics has announced they will publish a God of War comic book miniseries as a tie-in for the newest game in the series.

Following the success of the new God of War game for the PlayStation 4 (as well as the art book), Dark Horse has announced a partnership with Santa Monica Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment to create the upcoming tie-in comic for the franchise. The miniseries will center on Kratos' doings between the events of the original trilogy of games and the newest entry in the story.

The comic opens with Kratos living in the frigid Norse north. After his campaign against the Greek Gods is completed, Kratos tries to find somewhere to hang his hat, but, after he tries to do a good deed for a stranger, he finds himself forced to raise his weapons once again when a cult of berserker warriors come after him.

Chris Roberson (iZombie) will write the book. Tony Parker will provide the art for the comic (This Damned Band) while Dan Jackson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is set to be the colorist. The covers for the miniseries will be provided by E.M. Gist (Will Save the Galaxy for Food).

God of War #1 is slated to go on sale Nov. 14. The cover for the first issue can be previewed below.
