Dark Horse Comics has announced the next installment in the God of War saga: God of War: Fallen God by Chris Robertson and Tony Parker.

Set between the events of the 2010 PlayStation 3 game God of War III and the 2018 PlayStation 4 release God of War, Fallen God follows Kratos as he tries to move on with his life after his triumphant battle against Zeus and Athena. In trying to cope with his new life, however, Kratos finds himself on the verge of madness.

Per the full synopsis for Fallen God,

God of War: Fallen God follows Kratos after conquering Zeus and thwarting Athena. Believing himself to be finally free of his bondage, he sets sail for the desert in an attempt to distance himself from his home and his shame only to find his rage and guilt follow close behind. Kratos rages against the one foe that has proven to be unconquerable—himself. But a war against oneself is unwinnable, and only invites madness.

Writer Robertson and artist Parker are certainly no stranger to comic books starring Kratos, having previously worked on Dark Horse's God of War -- which served as a direct prequel to the aforementioned 2018 video game. They are joined on Fallen God -- which takes place even earlier -- by colorist Dan Jackson and letterer John Roshell.
