Most viewers would likely agree that one of the highlights of Marvel's Netflix dramas has been Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal of Wilson Fisk on "Daredevil." The primary antagonist for Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear in the first season, he briefly returned for Season 2. However, that may not be the last we've seen of Kingpin.

With Daredevil set to appear alongside Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist on the “The Defenders,” followed by a third season of his own series, it's a pretty good bet that Fisk will be back ... sometime. D’Onofrio knows if and when the character will return, but he's not saying just yet.

"That I can't answer. I do know, but I can't answer ... so take that how you will,” the actor told LRM. “Jeph [Loeb, head of Marvel TV] and Charlie [Cox] and Netflix love Kingpin, and so, Kingpin is good for Marvel's television stuff and I think they agree."

With Marvel "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders" in Netflix's immediate future, and "The Punisher" spinoff and a second season of "Jessica Jones" in the planning stages, a third season of "Daredevil" is probably a long way off.

Although Marvel Studios signs many of its stars to multi-picture deals that span several years, D'Onofrio said he didn't have to make such a commitment for the television division.

“Like, I didn't have to sign my life away at all,” he said. “When Jeph tells me there's something coming up and if I'm available, I'll be there. And because it's written so well, I'm going to show up.”
