Many Daredevil viewers cite the series as the best Marvel-related television show. However, Disney's acquisition of the Netflix Original Defenders series and all the shows leading up to it created some confusion among MCU fans. Many were unsure if the show's mature themes and TV-MA rating had a place in the MCU. Many thought the Netflix shows would be canon when they joined Disney+, but others wondered if they would become another variants instead.

Variant or not, all the key characters are still at play in the MCU. Hawkeye gave viewers Kingpin, and Spider-Man: No Way Home welcomed the return of Charlie Cox as Matthew Murdock. With Murdock due to appear in Disney+'s She-Hulk, there's more than enough time before Daredevil: Born Again's release to set up established team-ups between heroes and their "really good lawyer."

10 Hawkeye Could Clear Up Continuity Confusion

In the Hawkeye episode "Ronin," fans witnessed Vincent D'Onofrio return to his role as the antagonistic Kingpin. Although he's opposed Spider-Man, Kingpin remains one of Daredevil most important villains. Kingpin's appearance in Hawkeye gave fans their confirmation that Matthew Murdock existed somewhere in the MCU.

With this shared enemy, it's possible Clint Barton and Kate Bishop could need an ally to help them. Since there were overlaps between characters in the Hawkeye series and the Daredevil comic books, using these characters to clarify the events surrounding Kingpin's introduction could help connect the Disney+ shows.

9 Spider-Man Could Reunite A Classic Team

Spider-Man and Daredevil overlook the city from their perch.

Marvel Team Up would introduce readers to the most popular team up in comics: Daredevil and Spider-Man. The two frequently fought similar levels of crime, and Daredevil (Vol 2) #8 — by Kevin Smith, Joe Quesada, Jimmy Palmiotti, Richard Isanove, Liz Agraphiotis, and Richard Starkings — showcased the familial bond they shared.

Spider-Man: No Way Home erased people's memories of Peter Parker, but if Matt Murdock and Peter crossed paths again, it's possible they'd confide in each other the way their comic book counterparts did. Having Spidey and Daredevil fight lower-level crimes like in the comics would deliver a nostalgic moment for viewers to enjoy.

8 Captain America Could Make An Appearance

Both Born Again and Captain America: New World Order are scheduled to release in 2024. Given the fourth installment of the Captain America franchise comes out in May of that year and Daredevil is triple the length of current MCU shows, a cameo or a visit from Sam Wilson isn't off the table.

In the comics, Daredevil joins the Avengers. With the team either deceased or disconnected from one another, Wilson's Captain America may need to form new alliances for the larger threats to come, creating team-up sure to thrill MCU fans.

7 Kamala Khan And Her Friends Could Use A Really Good Lawyer

Ms Marvel: Nakia and Kamala enjoy a conversation together

Ms. Marvel is slated to return in July 2023 alongside Monica Rambeau and Carol Danvers in The Marvels. From the X-Men to Spider-Man, Kamala has partnered with several heroes in the comics. While there's not much demand for a Daredevil/Ms. Marvel team-up, Ms. Marvel sets up some interesting legal implications Matt Murdock can help with.

Ms. Marvel makes it clear the Department of Damage Control violates the rights of those attending the Islamic Masjid of Jersey City. While many fans don't expect another lawyer-focused show after She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a B-Line plot or reference to Matthew and Nakia Bahadir combating the DDC can better connect the shows.

6 Shang-Chi Could Breathe Life Into Marvel Knights

Marvel Comics: Shang-Chi focusing the power of the Ten Rings

Readers have referred to Daredevil's unnamed team comprising himself, Dagger, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Luke Cage and Moon Knight as the "Marvel Knights" by readers. The team originally formed to subdue The Punisher (who later helped them) and had few issues or references within the 616 since.

Shang-Chi proved to be an underutilized fan favorite in the MCU since his debut film. The last time viewers saw the hero, he was in New York after talking to Wong. Forming the Marvel Knights alliance could connect current MCU projects, and since the Knights have a less defined history, it could open the door for brand new stories.

5 The Vision Could Make A Return

Vision from the Young Avengers uses his powers.

Since his debut in WandaVision, the White Vision hasn't been mentioned by any character in the MCU. As one of the few Marvel characters to be in both the Avengers and the Young Avengers, he needs to make a return.

The White Vision has Vision's memories and is essentially the same character, making him the perfect bridge between MCU phases. It's possible he's searching out recruits to bring together another team. While it's unlikely to occur, White Vision making a cameo in Daredevil: Born Again will thrill fans and set up a larger plot.

4 The Series Could Hint At Matt's Relationship With The Black Widow

An early Daredevil comic portrays Daredevil about to kiss Black Widow

From living in San Francisco together to breaking up because of a lack of respect, Matt Murdock and Natasha Romanoff's relationship is complex. If Born Again takes place in the current MCU timeline, the original Black Widow viewers know is gone, but that doesn't mean another Widow isn't in the picture.

Yelena Belova stole the show when she debuted in 2021's Black Widow. Given Daredevil's proximity to Natasha and her family in the Black Widow comic, the storylines could be repurposed with Yelena, or visited via flashbacks in Born Again.

3 Echo Could Always Use An Ally

Stylized comic art portrays Echo and Daredevil opposing each other

Marvel Studios' Echo is slated to release in 2023. The character's start as a Daredevil antagonist hints that the Man Without Fear may appear in Echo's series, but it also highlights the possibility she'll return for Born Again.

In the comics, Maya Lopez fought alongside and against Marvel giants like Wolverine, became a member of the Avengers, had ties to The Hand organization, and faced off with a Skrull impersonating the assassin Elektra. Echo's story closely intertwines with Murdock's, all but guaranteeing she'll appear in the Daredevil show.

2 Reed Richards Could Surprise MCU Fans

John Krasinski's Reed Richards dresses as Mr. Fantastic in the MCU

While Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness gave fans a taste of Reed Richards, he still isn't in the current Earth featured in the films. With The Fantastic Four releasing at the end of 2024, fans welcome the chance to see Richards again before its release.

Matt Murdock and Reed Richards have had many interactions in the comics and don't require a big team-up moment to have an impact. In Daredevil #36 — by Stan Lee, Gene Colan, Frank Giacoia, and Artie Simek — Daredevil is one of the few characters willing to challenge Daredevil's common sense and intelligence. The humanity showcased between the two, even while decked out in their costumes, is something many critics say the MCU lacks in its recent projects.

1 The Defenders Need A Reunion

With the confirmation of Daredevil in the MCU, many wonder about the whereabouts of his Defenders teammates. Jessica Jones is now known as A.K.A Jessica Jones on Disney+ and the Netflix originals have been titled The Defenders Saga.

There are countless theories detailing how Matt Murdock and Kingpin have appeared in the MCU's version of Earth, most pointing back to the events in Avengers: Endgame throwing off the multiverse. Fans will certainly have an answer by 2024, but with the MA rating and a higher budget, all viewers hope for the Defenders return.
