Official Press Release
ARTIST DAN JURGENS SIGNS EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT WITH DC COMICS
Dan Jurgens, whose thrilling artwork has graced DCU projects including the classic “Death of Superman” storyline and the upcoming miniseries INFINITE CRISIS AFTERMATH: THE BATTLE FOR BLUDHAVEN, has signed an exclusive contract with DC Comics.
“Everyone in comics admires the sense of enthusiasm and creative hustle that DC exudes these days,” says Jurgens. “When (Senior VP – Executive Editor, DCU) Dan DiDio and (Group Editor) Eddie Berganza approached me with the idea of joining DC exclusively, with Dan saying he wanted a ‘gunslinger,’ I couldn’t help but be intrigued. Working in a high-octane environment like the one at DC gets the creative fires burning and that adds up to books reflecting that energy and excitement. We have some very exciting projects planned for the next few years and I can’t wait to get started. I spent a fair amount of time contributing to the DCU’s past. It’s great to be back amid friends with a chance to contribute to its future.”
“Dan was such an important part of DC’s successes in the 1990s,” says DiDio. “We’re extremely happy to have him back with us, where he’ll bring that same talent and enthusiasm to his new projects and the new direction of the DC Universe.”

DC COMICS PROVIDES CONTENT UPDATE ON JONAH HEX
Due to a scheduling change, DC Comics announces content updates on JONAH HEX #5 (JAN050314) and #6 (FEB060276).
In JONAH HEX #5, scheduled to arrive in stores on March 1, artist Tony DeZuñiga returns to the character he first illustrated in 1972’s ALL-STAR WESTERN #10, in a tale of amorality during a Christmas gone horribly wrong! This issue is written by the regular team of Jimmy Palmiotti & Justin Gray and features a cover by Tim Bradstreet.
Issue #6, scheduled to arrive in stores on April 5, will feature the story originally scheduled for issue #5, in which the world’s ugliest bounty hunter faces off against the deadliest combination known to mankind: nuns with guns! This issue is written by Palmiotti & Gray, with art by Luke Ross and a cover by Brian Bolland.
