Although Dan Brown already has one fictional alter ego in the form of Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code protagonist Robert Langdon, the bestselling author will soon have a second -- one with superpowers: Anime News Network reports he's set to become a character in Kafuka Asagiri's manga Bungō Stray Dogs (Literary Stray Dogs).

When Brown was asked to appear in the book, he replied "I've always wanted to be mangafied."

According to the website, the series centers on "a league of literary figures with supernatural powers" who, as the Armed Detective Agency, solve mysteries. Its ranks have included such real-life authors as Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Agatha Christie and Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

His fictional counterpart possesses the power of "Inferno," enabling him to compose three-line poems that offer a glimpse of "hell" (which critics of his novels may find particularly appropriate). However, ANN notes, "the hell is actually a reflection of what the real world would be like, 33 minutes from now, so anyone who can decipher the poem can predict the future."

His fourth Langdon novel Inferno was released this year.
