Damon Lindelof to Rewrite Troubled World War Z

Clive Barker isn’t the only big-name writer getting in on the zombie game. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Damon Lindelof is also dealing with the undead after Paramount Pictures hired him to rewrite the troubled adaptation of Max Brooks’ World War Z.

Director Marc Forster’s film, which stars Brad Pitt, has had significant problems that led the opening to be moved from Dec. 21, 2012, to June 21, 2013, to accommodate seven weeks of reshoots.

Lindelof is said to be focusing mainly on the third act. The writer just had a big weekend with the release of Prometheus which he co-wrote with Ridley Scott. That film came in second at the box office behind Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.

Lindelof also recently spoke about the potential of a Prometheus sequel, his desire to return to television and also has a movie with Brad Bird in the works called 1952.
