Daisy Ridley will find time in her "Star Wars" schedule to headline "Chaos Walking," Lionsgate's adaptation of the sci-fi trilogy by Patrick Ness.

Doug Liman ("Edge of Tomorow") signed on to direct in June from a script by Jamie Linden (Charlie Kaufman penned an earlier draft).

Debuting in 2008 with "The Knife of Never Letting Go," "Chaos Walking" is set in a dystopian world where all creatures can hear each other’s thoughts in a stream of images, words and sounds called Noise. It centers on the only boy in a town of men who discovers a patch of silence, and is forced to flee, with the townspeople in pursuit. He soon discovers the source of the silence, a strange girl named Viola.

Ridley, who has wrapped production on "Star Wars: Episode VIII," is also set to star in "The Lost Wife" and "Kolma."
