CD Projekt -- the parent company of CD Projekt Red -- released a report on Dec. 22, disclosing Cyberpunk 2077's estimated unit sales thus far.

Despite the video game's glitched and controversial rollout, CD Projekt reported that it's sold 13 million copies already, not including refunded games.

The company's quoted number includes game sales on all platforms and guarantee that this figure "factor[ed] in returns submitted by retail clients in brick-and-mortar as well as digital storefronts." However, this reported amount cannot factor in any refunds that are requested after Dec. 22. The report pulled sales data from the game's initial release on Dec. 10 through Dec. 20. CD Projekt closed the report with a public statement from its upper management team that read, "The Management Board has decided to disclose the above information in the form of a current report due to its potential impact on investment-related decisions."

Currently, law firms in the U.S. and Poland are circling CD Projekt, the parent company of CD Projekt Red, potentially filing a class-action lawsuit against the company for misleading shareholders and public investors on the game's capability.

On Dec. 18, US law firm Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP issued a press release that said read in part, "[CD Projekt] may have issued materially misleading information to their shareholders and investing public."

Since its criticized launch, CD Projekt Red's co-CEO Adam Kiciński apologized for the company's rushed release. "After 3 delays, we as the Management Board were too focused on releasing the game," he announced. "We underestimated the scale and complexity of the issues, we ignored the signals about the need for additional time to refine the game on the base last-gen consoles. It was the wrong approach and against our business philosophy. On top of that, during the campaign, we showed the game mostly on PCs."

CD Projekt Red projected that last-generation console issues should be patched by February. Cyberpunk 2077 is now unavailable for PS4 on the PlayStation Store until further notice. Sony has a full page on the PlayStation website dedicated to offering refunds to players who purchased the game digitally, as long as the purchase can be verified.

Developed by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.
