Official Press Release
SOMERVILLE, MA – Cyberosia announced its first quarter publishing schedule for 2002 today.
“We have a big year ahead of us in 2002,” says publisher Scott O. Brown. “Kicking things off in January is OVERTIME, a futuristic crime story by Marc Bryant and Mal Jones. Compliment it with REVOLVING HAMMER, a powerful anthology from comics’ newest and brightest, and POPIMAGE, Vol. 1, a collection of some of the best comics journalism of 2000, and you’ve got three books that’ll get your year off to a great start.”
In a world without death, the ultimate crime is procreation. OVERTIME is the debut graphic novel from Marc Bryant and Malcolm Jones. On her first case as a Nativity Detective, DeSoto must track the parents of a mysterious newborn. Fed up with her jaded partner and dogged to uncover the truth, DeSoto takes matters into her own hands, not realizing that her first case may be her last. OVERTIME, with a cover by Brian Wood (CHANNEL ZERO) will be solicited in the November PREVIEWS to ship in January.
POPIMAGE: Vol. 1 brings to the printed page the best articles from PopImage’s first year. Edited by former PopImage EIC Christopher Butcher, POPIMAGE collects reviews, columns, and interviews offering a glimpse inside the minds of power players in the industry such as Warren Ellis, Scott McCloud, and Joe Quesada. With over 1.5 million hits a month, Popimage is a driving force in comic journalism and this collection is an essential book for anyone interested in the popular culture of the medium. POPIMAGE: Vol. 1, a 6 x 9, 192 page book, is scheduled for March.
REVOLVING HAMMER is an anthology featuring short stories by innovative new creators making their mark on the industry. Running the gauntlet from horror to slice of life to the outright bizarre, Cyberosia’s premier anthology features stories by Marc Bryant and Mal Jones (OVERTIME), Marcel Guldemond (APORIATICA), Walter Conely (PITCHBRIGHT) and Becky Cloonan (CZ: JENNIE ONE), and many others. The REVOLVING HAMMER hits first, hits fast, and leaves a nasty bruise this April.
