Official Press Release

[Shaolin Soccer]

San Jose, CA - June 30, 2003 ComicsOne, America's favorite publisher of

Hong Kong Kung Fu comics has recently announced the acquisition of yet

another movie property for comic adaptation - Shaolin Soccer! In August

2003, Steven Chow's Shaolin Soccer will make its U.S. debut on the

silver screen from Miramax Films and ComicsOne's own Shaolin Soccer

vol. 1 will follow closely behind this hilarious kung fu comedy.

At the creative helm of this action packed adventure is Hong Kong's Andy

Seto of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Saint Legend fame. ComicsOne

and Mr. Seto have come together to produce ComicsOne's first original

comic book series. Shaolin Soccer will begin as two full-color graphic

novels that will follow and expand on Steven Chow's award winning movie

masterpiece. The Shaolin Soccer comic will retain the kung fu magic and

laugh-out-loud comedy that has made the movie world-renowned.

Young kung fu adept "Sing" is an honor bound disciple of

the legendary Shaolin Temple. His sole goal in life is to find a way to

package the philosophy and physical teachings of his beloved Shaolin

kung fu so that contemporary masses can learn, benefit and apply these

doctrines to their daily life. When he hooks up with a former soccer

champion, he quickly realizes that the world's most popular sport may

just be the vehicle to spread Shaolin kung fu all over the globe. But

first he must assemble a team worthy of the Shaolin name. But his

secular, out of shape former kung fu brothers are far from impressed

with his idea. Kung fu action and sidesplitting comedy are heading your

way!

The Shaolin Soccer film has won numerous awards and critical acclaim

including:

Best Film, Best Director - 2002 Hong Kong Film Critics Association

Best Film, Best Director, Best Young Director, Best Actor (Chow), Best

Supporting Actor (Wong Yut Fei), Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Design

- 2002 Hong Kong Film Awards.
