Nick Perks drew this Santa/Superman piece. So how this works is that every day until Christmas Eve, you can click on the current day's Advent Calendar post and it'll have a story in it that is part of my countdown of the 24 Greatest Superman Christmas Comics ever told! And I'll add links to the previous days in each new installment.

And now for Day 20, #5 on the countdown is...

"Christmas 'Round the World," from "Action Comics" #93, by Don Cameron and artists Ira Yarbrough and Stan Kaye (well, Cameron was writing most of the "Action"s of this era, so I presume it is him – the art is definitely Yarbrough and Kaye, though), we see Clark and Lois be distressed at the plight of young war refugees following World War II. So Superman comes up with a plan where he will use a bunch of un-used army gliders (they normally need a plane to toe them, but the Man of Steel is a suitable replacement) to bring the kids back to their homes around the world....

I love the Russian bit. Imagine this same comic five years later?

Anyhow, the story continues the same way except for when they find Eric, the son of Norway's envoy that we met earlier in the story who was supposedly killed by Nazis. Eric is hanging out with a bunch of kids who lost their families. Eric surprisingly turns down Superman's offer to take him to see his father. But when they return, they are in for a surprise…

That's an awesome twist. What a cool little kid. Clark might want to work on that whole "jealous of Superman" thing. ;)
