And now for Day 19, #6 on the countdown is…

“Christmastown, USA” from “Action Comics” #117 by Alvin Schwartz (who is still alive!!!) and Win Mortimer.

Over in the mid-west’s Central Valley, a man worries about his missing grandson, who was supposed to play Santa Claus in the town’s famous Christmas festival. A festival so famous that the Daily Planet flies its two top reporters out to cover it (which makes no sense, but hey, it’s Christmas!)…

The flooding is a major issue, but Superman has an interesting solution…

I firmly DO believe that keeping people’s spirits up is an important thing during a crisis like this, but I have to wonder if Superman’s efforts might not have been better served helping flood victims. But that’s neither here nor there.

Lois encounters a young man suffering from amnesia. She decides to stick with him to help him out of the goodness of her heart. Nah, I’m just kidding, she figures she can exploit his amnesia for personal gain…

Of course, as it turns out, the young man is just who you think he is (his grandfather had to dress as Santa with him missing)…

Superman thinks that the best thing to add to a flooding crisis is a snow storm…

I kid, Superman, I know it is only a light dusting.

Cute story by the great Alvin Schwartz. Great Win Mortimer art. He was a very good artist.
