Before Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe can go solve the crime of the century, they have to deal with a rotting corpse in the new trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures' "The Nice Guys." And while it can't make the May 20 release date get here any sooner, it will fill the Shane Black-sized hole in your heart.

The "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" and "Iron Man 3" director returns with a 1977-set film that features Gosling as a troubled private investigator and Crowe as a gun for hire trying to solve the mystery of a dead porn star and a missing girl as they uncover a far greater conspiracy and rack up plenty of bodies in the process. While the new trailer features plenty of gunfights, car crashes and Black's signature wit -- not to mention a human-sized bee -- it does so in a decidedly less R-rated way than the previous Red Band trailer.

Written by Black and Anthony Bagarozzi, “The Nice Guys” also stars Kim Basinger, Matt Bomer and Margaret Qualley.

Set in 1970s Los Angeles, down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power.
