Jim Henson's Creature Shop is opening its doors to the world of reality television.

Syfy has ordered eight episodes of Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The reality series sees "10 contestants competing to build mechanical characters and whimsical beasts and bringing high-end inanimate creature designs to life," with the ultimate goal of a $100,000 cash prize and a job at the Creature Shop. Brian Henson, son of Jim Henson and chairman of the Jim Henson Company, will be the lead judge of the series.

"As Face Off does with SFX makeup application, Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge showcases the incredible imagination and artistry of lifelike creature construction," Syfy's original content president Mark Stern said of the new series. "The Creature Shop has set the bar for a caliber of work that is unmatched in quality, design and sheer imagination."

Expect to see Creature Shop Challenge on Syfy in early 2014.
