Jeremy Renner, who's played Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011, is reportedly requesting leniency on his child support payments due to the majority of the entertainment industry shutting down as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

TMZ claims to have obtained documents Renner filed with a Los Angeles judge asking for a reduction in the amount of child support he currently pays to his ex, Sonny Pacheco, for the care for their daughter Ava. According to the documents, Renner pays approximately $30,000/month for housing, food, transportation, etc. However, the actor argues Pacheco mismanages the money to not only support her lifestyle but to further their ongoing custody battle. That said, Renner allegedly believes Ava's needs actually come to approximately $11,000/month.

Renner's issues with Pacheco are well documented. Most notably, in October 2019, Pacheco filed a report claiming Renner threatened to kill her, put a gun in his mouth and shot it at the ceiling while Ava was in the room.

"The well-being of his daughter Ava has always been and continues to be the primary focus for Jeremy," Renner's lawyer said in a statement at that time. "This is a matter for the court to decide. It’s important to note the dramatizations made in Sonni’s declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind."

Although Renner's run as Clint Barton on the big screen may be over, he'll soon reprise his role as Hawkeye in Marvel Studios' Disney+ series.
