Coolio Was Almost Scarecrow in Schumacher's Scrapped Batman Movie

According to rap icon Coolio, he almost portrayed The Scarecrow in a Joel Schumacher Batman film that was also rumored to see the return of Jack Nicholson's Joker.

'90s rap icon Coolio blames director Joel Schumacher for never getting to play The Scarecrow in the follow-up to "Batman and Robin." The rapper/actor says the critical and financial failure of "Batman and Robin" prevented a fifth film from happening, which would have featured him as Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow. This is entirely based on an account from Coolio himself.

"Batman & Robin was the only Batman that didn't make money," Coolio told the Burleson Star in a recent interview. "I'm still sore about that a little bit, cause the only reason I did that part is because they promised me the villain part in the following Batman, which they didn't do, because Joel Schumacher - they fired him."

"He was supposed to do the two next ones," Coolio continued. "He and I didn't get along that good anyway - I mean he made a terrible Batman movie. But the next villain was supposed to be the Scarecrow. They didn't do it though. Maybe one day. I'm sure they won't come calling, though."

There have been several rumors surrounding what would have happened after "Batman and Robin," including Scarecrow being the next major villain. However, Schumacher once revealed he intended to cast Nicholas Cage as the villain. Of course, this doesn't mean Coolio wasn't at one time considered to play the role.
