"Constantine" executive producer Daniel Cerone announced a few days ago that, despite attempts to find a new network home for the DC Comics-based NBC series, the show was officially dead. Subsequently, series star Matt Ryan took to Twitter to thank the show's fans for their support -- which included a #SaveConstantine campaign on social media, after NBC announced it would not order more episodes beyond its initial order of 13.

"Sad news," Ryan wrote on Twitter. "Sad news. Thank you #Hellblazers for your support u truly r the best, and thank you to everyone involved in the show. Memories made forever. Very disappointed that we are not continuing this journey,will miss playing john. You guys never gave up, I thank you all #Constantine."

Putting a final punctuation mark on the show's one-season run, "Constantine" production designer Dave Blass tweeted a photo on Wednesday of a set from the show being taken down:

"Constantine," based on popular DC Comics character John Constantine and the "Hellblazer" and "Constantine" comic book series, debuted on NBC in October, finishing up its run this past February.
