Apparently Joel McHale wasn't joking a couple of months ago when he said there wouldn't be any more episodes of "Community," “unless they pay me a lot of money.”

In an interview with Metro Weekly, the actor/comedian states unequivocally that there won't be a seventh season of the cult comedy on Yahoo! Screen, despite interest from the streaming service, chalking it up to the budget.

"They wanted to. But all of our contracts were up after six years," he said. All the actors on the show, almost without exception — their stock has risen significantly and it’s out of the pay rate that is affordable to make the show. So you’re not going to be able to get Alison Brie or Gillian Jacobs at a normal television salary anymore. There is just not enough money to be able to pay for the show."

We can still hold out hope for that movie, however.
