The nominees have been announced for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s 25th annual Media Awards, which honor outstanding portrayals of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.
The nominees for outstanding comic book are:
- Batwoman, by W. Haden Blackman, J.H. Williams III, Trevor McCarthy, Marc Andreyko, Jeremy Haun and others (DC Comics)
- The Fearless Defenders, by Cullen Bunn and William Sliney (Marvel)
- Husbands, by Jane Espenson, Brad Bell and Natalie Nourigat (Dark Horse)
- Life With Archie, by Paul Kupperberg, Fernando Ruiz, Bob Smith, Pat Kennedy, Tim Kennedy and others (Archie Comics)
- Young Avengers, by Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie and others (Marvel)
This marks the third nomination for Batwoman, which won in 2012; the original Young Avengers series won in 2006, while Avengers: The Children's Crusade was nominated in 2011 and 2012, and Young Avengers Presents in 2009.
The winners in all categories will be announced during ceremonies in Los Angeles (April 12) and New York City (May 3).
