Happy Saturday and welcome to Shelf Porn! Today's collection features a few trades but mostly comic books, as Brian prefers to collect single issues. "There's something about the hunt that really gets my heart going. An there's a lot of things NOT collected," he said.

If you'd like to see your collection here, you can find details at the end of this post.

And now let's hear from Brian.

Alas! Here I present my shelf porn! As you can see, I prefer to collect issues rather than trades/omnibuses. There's something about the hunt that really gets my heart going. An there's a lot of things NOT collected.

My completed comic runs are shelved on my DIY built pine wood shelves that I planned and put together myself to fit into my reading nook when I moved to my new apartment. I also get to create my own custom designed dust jackets to slip over my runs as you can see with my Mark Waid's Daredevil issues.

I also have some nice display spots for more of my key/signed/favorite issues to gawk at all the time. As well as using the top of my doorway to display some Jack Kirby covers.

I put my 'non-super hero' graphic novels on my regular bookshelf (honestly because I have a hard enough time putting them with everything else) as well as keeping my yet unfinished runs of issues in three short boxes till they get to finally be shelved.

Here's to my goal of collecting issues #1-300 of The Avengers, Captain America, Daredevil & The Uncanny X-Men in one way or another. (already have DD 131-300) Phew!

Thanks!

Brian

1. Take some photos and save them as jpgs.

2. Write up a little something about your collection.

3. Send them to me in an email. Please put the text into an email and attach the images as separate files; don’t embed them into a Word doc. Uploading them to Dropbox or a similar service also works
