The Hollywood Reporter's breakdown of the weekend leading up to the Golden Globes includes a brief bit from Robin Wright's daughter Dylan Penn about why the "House of Cards" star was not in attendance.

"No, she's not going," said Penn about Robin Wright. "She's training to be a super hero for a movie." THR notes that the movie is "Wonder Woman," although the specific role Wright is playing remains unrevealed; there's speculation that she will be playing Wonder Woman's mother Hippolyta.

ANT-MAN & THE WASP

While speaking to Vulture, director Adam McKay briefly touched upon "Ant-Man and the Wasp." When asked if he'd once again be involved, he replied: "I'm talking to them. I just talked to Peyton [Reed, the director of Ant-Man] the other day. I've talked to [Paul] Rudd. I think they have a process they do where they bring a bunch of writers in and toss around ideas, so my hope is that they'll write a script and I can rewrite it again, because that was a great way to work, and I got to really get my imprint on the movie and have a great time doing it. Kevin Feige knows I love Marvel, so I'm game. I grew up on it. Whatever they need, I'm there."

When asked if he'd ever consider directing a Marvel movie if asked, McKay replied, "Oh, heck yeah."

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

During a panel Q&A at Wizard World New Orleans, directors Joe and Anthony Russo discussed the shifting nature of the Avengers' lineup and how it might be different for "Infinity War."

"Everything is finite, right? Nothing can last forever," said Joe Russo, as reported by ComicBook.com. "It's cyclical. Some new Avengers in phase 4 are going to become prominent and then maybe some Avengers might not be around anymore. So, we'll see how all this plays out but you have to treat every character with respect. I think it's interesting that if you've seen four or five movies with the lead character having an arc, I want to see some story telling from some of the secondary characters. We're focusing on that right now with 'Infinity War' while we're breaking into those movies, is which characters can we pull to the forefront who potentially haven't had their own 'A' story arc to this point. I think you'll see that the supporting Avengers are going to become primary Avengers."

BLACK PANTHER

Marvel has announced that "Creed" director Ryan Coogler will helm "Black Panther."

"We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family," producer Kevin Feige told Marvel.com. "The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct 'Black Panther.' Many fans have waited a long time to see Black Panther in his own film, and with Ryan we know we've found the perfect director to bring T'Challa's story to life."

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Joe and Anthony Russo have revealed more about General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross' role in "Civil War" during an international press interview.

"He's a character who was ham-fisted in his approach in 'The Incredible Hulk,' and that's probably a polite way to put it," said Joe Russo, as transcribed by Heroic Hollywood. "And I think he's learned from his over-aggressiveness in that movie and he's become more of a politician. He's much savvier now. And he's cornering the Avengers [because] superheroes have always been a [problem] to him; he's not a fan of them. So now he's come at them strategically by aligning the world against them. So, he's gotten much savvier and I think you'll find that he's grown as a character, he's different than he was in 'The Incredible Hulk'. And he's more formidable and political opponent to them."

Joe Russo also weighed in on the rumors swirling around Ross' possible transformation into the Red Hulk in the film, giving a definitive statement. "There's always a chance at Marvel that you can see anything, but uh, let's say, there's no Red Hulk in 'Civil War.'"

A new TV spot for "Deadpool" has arrived, which depicts the merc going for extra points.

A new "poster" for the film reimagines the R-rated superhero affair as a Nicholas Sparks-esque romance, complete with smiles and sparkles. The image was revealed via the "Deadpool" Twitter account.

The CW has released a set of images from the "Flash" midseason premiere, "Potential Energy."

GREEN LANTERN

While talking to Collider about his upcoming film "The Finest Hours," Chris Pine revealed that he was never offered a role in Warner Bros. upcoming "Green Lantern" film.

"No. I was not offered Green Lantern ever," said Pine. "I've never had a conversation about Green Lantern."

Pine was rumored to be up for the Hal Jordan role prior to the announcement that he will play Steve Trevor in "Wonder Woman."

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2

ComingSoon recently talked to Benicio Del Toro about the chances of him coming back as the Collector in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel. Del Toro expressed an interest, as well as doubt.

"I don't think so," replied Del Toro said when asked about the Collector appearing in the sequel. "They would have told me, I hope... I do hope to play that character again at some point."

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

The CW has announced that the series premiere of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will have an extended runtime. The series debut on Thursday, Jan. 21, will receive an additional three minutes, running from 8:00 p.m through 9:02:50 p.m.

The network has also released a character promo focusing on Heat Wave.

SUPERGIRL

CBS has released a synopsis for the upcoming 12th episode of "Supergirl," titled "Bizarro."

"Bizarro" - Kara faces off against her mirror image when Bizarro (Hope Lauren), a twisted version of Supergirl, sets out to destroy her. Also, Kara grows closer with Cat's son, Adam (Blake Jenner), on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Feb. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

IGN reports that "Supergirl" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed Monday during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour that the show will adapt Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' classic Superman story "For the Man Who Has Everything," which originally appeared as 1985's "Superman Annual" #11. The episode will follow "Bizarro" and be titled "For the Girl Who Has Everything." The episode will see Supergirl dreaming of being back home on Krypton.

"When she is granted this it's a wonderful life moment... there's actually a reason for her to want it to be true, because it's much more palatable and easy for her to be there," Kreisberg said.

Additionally, IGN reports that episode 14 of the series will be directed by Lexi Alexander and will feature Jeff Branson as Master Jailer. Episode 15 will see the introduction of former "Smallville" Supergirl Laura Vandervoort as Indigo.

Here's the official description of Indigo: "A living, strong-willed supercomputer that was sentenced to Fort Rozz after turning against the people of Krypton. Now on Earth, Indigo will let nothing stand in her way."

While chatting with Krypton Site at the TCAs, Kreisberg also revealed how Vandervoort got involved with the show.

"First of all, when the show was announced, Laura sent out the sweetest Tweet, just saying how honored she had been and how excited she was for Melissa [Benoist], and that meant so much to me," said Kreisberg. "I just thought it was such a classy move. And then I met her at the Saturn Awards, and we had such a great talk... there have actually been a couple of other parts that we tried to get her for, but she wasn't free because [Vandervoort's show] 'Bitten' was in production, but as always with casting, I always find that when a role doesn't work out with somebody, it's because the right role is coming down the pike, and now [we] have her step in and be a recurring character on the show."
