COMIC REEL: “Thor’s” Levi Talks Possibly Playing Multiple Marvel Roles; Spider-Man Rumor Teases His Experience

THOR: RAGNAROK

Den of Geek talked to Zachary Levi about his future as Fandral in the “Thor” franchise.

“I have no idea [if I’m in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’],” said Levi. “They have not told me anything. I hope so. I think that’d be pretty fun to get the gang back together, the Warriors Three. But there’s a reason why the movie’s called Thor and not The Warriors Three. They’ve got to do what’s right for Thor.” When it was pointed out that Jaimie Alexander, who plays Sif, now has an NBC drama “Blindspot” to schedule around, Levi said:

“I think they’re shooting for next summer so it really just depends on when in the summer. I know when they’re going to shoot, only because, like everyone knows, when the film’s actual releasing because Marvel’s already slotted all that out which I think is again the following November which is what the last ‘Thor’ was. So they’ve got to shoot it next summer. I don’t know. It’d be a lot of fun but there’s also a lot of other Marvel roles that I’d love to play one day. If I never get to play Fandral again, I got to do it once and it was a great group to work with.”

When asked if that meant he could play two Marvel characters, Levi elaborated. “I had a very interesting talk with Kevin Feige early on about it all and he said, ‘Look, it doesn’t preclude you from playing another Marvel character,'” said Levi. “Chris Evans was The Human Torch and Captain America. Ray Stevenson was The Punisher and Volstagg. I did point out to him, ‘In fairness, neither ‘Fantastic Four’ nor ‘The Punisher’ was actually a Marvel movie. You were a part of it but they were produced by other studios.’ But he said, ‘Look, I totally understand that but don’t worry about it.’ I don’t know, if there’s a right role that comes along and they want me to play it, I’d love to.”

BOOSTER GOLD/BLUE BEETLE

The Tracking Board has learned that a film starring Booster Gold and Blue Beetle is in development over at Warner Bros. According to their unnamed sources, TB says that Greg Berlanti, producer of DC shows like “Flash,” “Arrow” and “Supergirl,” will direct the film. Heroic Hollywood has also heard that Zek Penn is rumored to write the script.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

While talking with Uproxx, Sebastian Stan relayed a story about Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige’s visit to the “Civil War” set.

“And actually earlier this year when Kevin came to the set of ‘Civil War,’ I actually asked him, ‘How does it feel to come to this set and watch these people?’ And he said to me straight, ‘Yeah, we were talking about it, but the truth is we didn’t know we going to be able to do it.’ They didn’t really know they were going to be able to get to do ‘Civil War.’ They didn’t even know they were going to be able to do ‘The Winter Soldier.'”

Heroic Hollywood has a rumor about Spider-Man and his in-film history in “Civil War.” According to an unnamed source, HH states that Peter Parker will have been active as Spider-Man for just over a year, becoming a bit of an urban legend. Then the rumor states that Spider-Man’s solo film will take place a year after “Civil War” (it does come out a year after “Civil War’s” release).

GOTHAM

During his panel at Fan Expo Canada, “Gotham’s” Robin Lord Taylor talked vaguely about possible future interactions between Penguin and Edward Nygma.

“I can’t get into any specifics, unfortunately,” Lord Taylor said with a smile. “I can say that you will see they definitely come back into each other’s lives in a really major way. It’s going to be really great. We’re about to start that part of the story in the next couple of weeks. I’m so thrilled. They are in the same city, so…”
