CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Marvel has announced that the first trailer for "Captain America: Civil War" has shattered the world record for views in 24 hours after being watched 61 million times across the globe in its first day online.

Elizabeth Olsen, who returns as Scarlet Witch in the film, spoke with CBR about what it's like working on Marvel movies.

"It's also a whole other learning experience of how to perform in those kinds of films, because it is different," said Olsen. "Many people say that it's the same preparation, it's the same character development, it's the same that kind of work, but on set, it's just different. It's just larger, it's not intimate, it's just different. To watch [Robert] Downey and [Chris] Hemsworth and Scarlett [Johansson] and [Chris] Evans and [Mark] Ruffalo and watch how they deal with that and kind of absorb that information, I feel like I get a little master class every day."

CAPTAIN MARVEL

Director Reed Morano spoke with MCU Exchange about her interest in Captain Marvel as a character.

"I just want to tell good stories with rich, complex characters," said Morano. "Carol Danvers' story is the perfect example of that, with stories like her battle with alcoholism as she is losing her powers and her struggle with the loss of her memories. It excites me to see her story told because she's a female superhero that is completely three dimensional and compelling. She has flaws and she is struggling... I only know what I know mainly from watching superhero movies all my life. What attracts me most about this genre is the characters often have this self-destructive behavior, which goes against the grain of what you expect from a superhero. This is especially evident in Marvel films, such as Iron Man. They don't have to be likable, and that dichotomy exists of having all these otherworldly powers yet barely able to squash their own demons."

We're going to see those two end up working together as we go forward. NEW MUTANTS

In a lengthy talk with Collider, producer Simon Kinberg gave a quick update about the status of "New Mutants"

"Like with all of these things, we have to get the script right," said Kinberg of the film. "That's the most important part of it, and they're just working on the first draft now, but the hope is that we'll shoot it soon. And [writer/director] Josh [Boone] has been game with this and gave us this incredibly elaborate presentation about 'New Mutants.' He's a huge comic book fan and grew up loving and reading specifically 'New Mutants,' so he came with a whole movie presentation where he laid the film out and it was really cool."

SPIDER-MAN

Collider has a quote from Tom Holland about his audition process for the role of Spider-Man.

"Well, I did my first audition tape with Joel Kinnaman -- I was shooting a really small indie film with him earlier in the year -- and they gave me two scenes and I had to do an ident, which is basically where you say, 'Hi, my name is Tom Holland, I'm this, I'm this tall, I'm this old.' And I basically did like a somersault into frame and then a somersault out of frame 'cause I basically -- I was like, they may never see this, but if they do I need them to know that I've got some gymnastics abilities and stuff, and every tape I sent in I always did a little acrobatic demo to try and convince them to give me the role."

THOR: RAGNAROK

The NY Daily News spoke with Chris Hemswroth about the Hulk's involvement in "Thor: Ragnarok" and whether or not his character would beat Mark Ruffalo's in battle.

"I'd like to think I let him win last time, but because this movie is called 'Thor,' I have to win this time," said Hemsworth. "I hope it's a "Butch Cassidy [and the Sundance Kid]" sort of story," he added about his team-up with the Hulk. "That would be fun. I love Mark. I think those two characters haven't spent a whole lot of time talking to each other on screen [so far in the Marvel movies], so it's something new, I think it would bring something different out of the characters. It's hard to have a conversation with the Hulk."

Considering that his initial contract with Marvel will conclude with "Avengers: Infinity War," Hemsworth spoke about his future with the studio. "Contractually that will finish me up, I have to see how I feel at the end of them, it's still a while away... Ask me in three films time."
