GODZILLAVariety spoke with Gareth Edwards and Thomas Tull about the upcoming "Godzilla" film and Legendary as a studio. It's definitely worth a read, especially when it comes to the development of the "Godzilla" remake and how long it's been on the burner, as well as how Edwards came to land the director's gig.

"This was one of those very rare instance where we talked to only one guy," Tull told Variety. "He had a great mix of reverence for the material and wasn't intimidated by it but excited. As you can image when you're taking someone who's made a movie that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to this, there are a lot of conversations. And frankly, a lot of push back -- not in a nefarious way, but hey, this is a big risk. It was our nickel to make the mistake because we own so much of the movie."
