COMIC REEL: Lincoln Says “Walking Dead” Will “Jump Up A Gear”; “Civil War” Emojis Take Over Twitter

THE WALKING DEAD

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Andrew Lincoln revealed that the back half of the season will be fast-paced.

“We do realize very quickly in the returning episode that it’s almost like the end of a chapter,” said Lincoln. “Something happens. Rick learns a lot about himself in this episode. What I will say is that the pace quickens a lot in the back eight. It jumps up a gear, maybe two gears, and we move very, very quickly. A lot of things happen in quick succession that propel us towards a very thrilling finale.”

He also said that the batch of episodes includes some of his favorites ever. “I will say that five of my favorite episodes in a long time – and very different episodes – are in this back eight. I loved shooting this back eight, from the moment we started with episode 9, which felt like a season premiere. The scale of it is astonishing. And [director] Greg Nicotero and our brilliant crew put their bodies and everything on the line to get it shot. It was all night. It’s absolute mayhem. I think it’s going to scare some people.”

DEADPOOL

Collider has a transcript of a press roundtable interview with “Deadpool” co-star Brianna Hildebrand, who plays Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

“Ryan is great, he’s super cool,” said Hildebrand of working with lead Ryan Reynolds. “Ryan Reynolds was my childhood crush. His name is all over the walls of my room, I actually photoshopped myself into a picture with him my freshman year of high school. I was hardcore obsessed so it’s crazy how this all worked out. When I auditioned for this film I actually didn’t really have any kind of idea what I was auditioning for, or that he had anything to do with it, but for my call back I was like ‘Oh my god! What!’ So yeah, it’s cool working with him. He’s awesome.”

During an interview with German outlet FILMSTARTS, Ryan Reynolds discussed “X-Force” and the “X-Men: Days of Future Past’s” timeline.

“I really don’t think this has anything to do with ‘Days of Future Past’ or its timeline,” said Reynolds. “If it were Deadpool, he could tell ‘Days of Future Past’ to take its timeline and go fuck itself. We make fun of the timelines in the movie, but Deadpool is not affected by that at all. Deadpool, I think, is just his own thing — his own universe — and anytime the other X-Men interact with Deadpool and his universe, they do so at their own risk and peril.”

Reynolds isn’t opposed to Deadpool appearing in the larger X-Men Cinematic Universe. “There’s so much material to mine in just the X-Men universe,” he said. “In the future, if we’re doing a bunch more ‘Deadpool’ movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot. We’ll see. And maybe X-Force — X-Force is my priority. I really want to get that in.”

THE FLASH

Ahead of her appearance as Killer Frost in tonight’s “Flash,” Danielle Panabaker took part in a few interviews to talk about her Earth-2 character.

TV Line asked Panabaker if Frost’s origin story will be explored in these two episodes. Panabaker said, “That’s actually not something that we really explored in this first exposure to Killer Frost. It’s The Flash, so we’re telling his [Barry’s] story and witnessing his general his shock at seeing Killer Frost.” She also shared a little bit about her powers: “A lot of what we see in this week’s episode is her use of icicles, how she can shoot them from her hand. She has control over ice and in [next week’s episode] we see her explore her powers a bit more.”

EW also spoke to Panabaker about Killer Frost, specifically where she drew inspiration for this darker version of Caitlin Snow: “I watched some old Batman movies and really looked at all those femme fatales, Uma Thurman and Michelle Pfieffer, and went to them for inspiration,” she says. “It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it.”

A character poster featuring Killer Frost has also been revealed ahead of the episode.
