CAPTAIN MARVEL

These days, nearly every young woman in Hollywood is getting linked to some superhero role or other, but "Jurassic World" actress Bryce Dallas Howard seems particularly jazzed to work with Marvel Studios. Asked what franchise she'd want to take a part in by CinemaBlend, Howard quickly said, "Marvel movie."

Soon after, the part of Captain Marvel was suggested to the former Gwen Stacey, and she was thrilled with the idea, saying, "Oh my God, will you write that? Will you write that please? Yes, let's start a campaign now. That would be rad. Those movies are so fantastic, because talk about just these incredibly drawn characters! That's the joy of the comics, is that you fall in love with these characters and it's who they are that carries you from journey to journey to journey... it's not just about set pieces. It's really about who these people are, and so, yes, I just would love to be in a Marvel film."

Odds are that someone else will land the part of Carol Danvers come 2018, but Howard may hold out hope yet for a part in the MCU.

Set for November 2, 2018.

WOLVERINE

In similar dream casting talk, "Kingsman: The Secret Service" star Taron Egerton was floated the rumored idea of him teaming with director Matthew Vaughn for a young Wolverine film when Hugh Jackman leaves the role. The actor did have one bit of trepidation, however, as he told ScreenRant:

"I am a huge X-Men fan! My feeling about that is... I don't know if I'm quite grizzly enough. My facial hair is still very thin and patchy. I feel someone who plays Wolverine potentially needs testosterone in abundance. Yeah, I'd love to have a go at it, but I don't know. [Laughs] I don't know. I was with Hugh the day that he announced his retirement from that role. I did joke about that very thing with him. But the phone hasn't rang yet, my friend, so I don't know."

FANTASTIC FOUR

Meanwhile, Fox is gearing up for its next big superhero flick by cross promoting Marvel's First Family with America's current sports heroes: the women of the 2015 World Cup team. The spot has been appearing alongside World Cup coverage on Fox Sports 1:

Arrives August 7.

POWER RANGERS

Lionsgate's plan for a return to the big screen for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers under director Dean Israelite is moving forward, but according to Heroic Hollywood, the cast won't be what longtime fans expect. In fact, the studio seems to be looking for unknowns to play the five teens to morph into kick-flipping heroes.

Announced for January 13, 2017.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN

With a slew of new art expected to hit at the Licensing Expo in Vegas this week, Warner Bros. released the first official synopsis for the Zack Snyder film:

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

Opening March 26, 2016.
