DEADPOOL

Ahead of Ryan Reynolds' appearance on "Conan" last night, the show posted a picture of the actor in full Deadpool regalia getting quasi-intimate with a startled Conan O'Brien.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Batman News has come across a possible new photo of Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne, one that allegedly comes from director Zack Snyder's own private Instagram account. The key word there is "private," though, so it's so far difficult to tell if the picture actually comes from the director's feed. Instead of being shared by Snyder photographer Clay Enos like previous pics, this one apparently popped up via one of Snyders couple hundred followers.

FANTASTIC FOUR

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, "Fantastic Four" screenwriter Simon Kinberg discussed the future of the rebooted potential franchise.

"I have a lot of ideas of where I think it should go beyond this film," said Kinberg. "For me, in future films, we'd want to really see what it's like to become a public celebrity superhero group, which is what the Fantastic Four were, essentially. They were known within the world and dealing with that in today's society would be interesting. It's something not a lot of movies have done in grounded ways. Then there are specific things from the books, whether it is vehicles or specific powers, that I'd love to see."

While speaking with BBC Newsbeat, "FF" actor Miles Teller -- who plays Mr. Fantastic -- preemptively defended the film against potentially negative critics.

"We tried to make something coming from a more dramatic standpoint so we're hoping that people enjoy it and recognize that we're trying to do something original," said Teller. "Rarely are films of this size critically well received... This is not a movie we're going to go on [review website] Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 percent. We did try to do something more than soulless, popcorn action."

Now that the embargo has lifted, it looks like Miles Teller's predication has come true. The film's initial reviews are far from fantastic.

Opens August 7

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Before appearing on "Legends of Tomorrow," it is now known that centuries-old villain Vandal Savage will first appear on "The Flash" and "Arrow," following a similar path as the recently cast Hawkman. Playing Vandal Savage will be Casper Crump, an actor primarily known for film and TV roles in his home country of Denmark. Warner Bros. described the recurring character/villain as "immortal, having spent the past 6,000 years moving like a virulent disease through history, whispering in the ears of despots and dictators, all leading to his eventual domination of the world."

Premieres in 2016 on the CW

SPIDER-MAN

Heroic Hollywood has a hunch about which villain may menace Spider-Man in his still-to-be-written first solo film. Unnamed sources within Sony have informed HH that Karen Moy, VP of Creative Affairs, purchased a copy of "Kraven's Last Hunt" on Amazon. HH then connected this with info released as part of the Sony email hack, stating that Moy has previously purchased books for the person in the Chairperson position at Sony, which was previously held by Amy Pascal. Whether or not this means Kraven is definitely the bad guy in the next Spidey film remains to be seen; this is right now just a rumor that a high-ranking Sony employee purchased a comic book on Amazon.

In an interview with Coming Soon, "Spider-Man" director Jon Watts talked about his history with the character and revealed how far along he is in the filmmaking process.

"We're all learning about each other, but they're very, very smart and extremely irreverent and I can't wait to start," said Watts of screenwriting duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein. "I should be working on it right now and not doing a bunch of 'Cop Car' interviews probably."

On his history with Spider-Man, Watts said: "I had this learn-to-draw Spider-Man comic book. There were some panels that were blank panels for you to fill in the rest of the story and then some that were just pencils for you to ink and then there were some that were already inked for you to color to decide if you want to be the penciler or the inker or the colorist or the writer. I was obsessed with this book. I would bring it to school every day until I had slowly filled up and colored every panel and then after that, it was the Todd McFarlane era, his run which was so cool. That's when I was really into comics, but now it's just been really great to hang out in an office and read comics all day, catching up on everything that I've missed."
