AMC releases new "The Walking Dead" season five clips; Netflix CCO Ted Sarando discusses "Daredevil," Marvel's upcoming TV series & more.

THE WALKING DEAD"The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott Gimple addressed Daryl Dixon's sexuality in a recent interview with TV Line, saying that it won't be a major revelation during season five -- or, indeed, any of the AMC drama's seasons.

"We know all sorts of things about the characters that we haven't revealed," Gimple told TV Line. "[But] we're not holding back information on Daryl's sexuality as any sort of big reveal. The fact that there's still a question as to what Daryl's orientation is in Season 5 absolutely speaks to Daryl's character; he is a very guarded, very closed-off individual in a lot of ways. We have been able to see him ever so slowly open up and show the other characters aspect by aspect as to what makes him tick. That's been a very satisfying journey for all of us on the creative side to portray. [And] he's still on that journey. This is a character who is going to continue to grow closer to the other characters, [and] let his guard down, and let them see just who he is, in every way."

AMC has released two new sneak peeks at the upcoming season five premiere, one featuring Chad Coleman as Tyreese, and another that sees Rick making a deadly promise.

Finally, Entertainment Weekly has debuted its new covers for its upcoming "The Walking Dead" issue featuring Daryl, Rick, Michonne, Glenn and Maggie in motion.

Returns to AMC in October

DAREDEVILIGN has posted quotes from Netflix CCO Ted Sarando's interview with "Empire Magazine" about the current Marvel television series headed into production -- including "Daredevil," which is already shooting.

"It was really based on the theatrical model of The Avengers," Sarando told Empire. "Could you take another group of characters, The Defenders, and go about it the same way? Normally they do the big movie and then eventually they get to the group origin story. Having 13 hours to tell each of these stories, you can go right to the origin story and the action at the same time."

As for "Daredevil," Sarando said the series "will not be afraid to go darker than the film did."

"What we love about this particular set of heroes is that they're a little more down to Earth," he said. "Costume wise and also in that these are gritty crime stories, more in the streets than in the clouds."

BATMAN V SUPERMANBoth Henry Cavill and Amy Adams did the Ice Bucket Challenge on the set of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," with Cavill getting water dumped on him several times.
