AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
Last night’s episode of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” certainly had a lot for fans to digest and discuss, the very least of which is the major twist right before the credits. Marvel has posted a spoiler-filled video about the episode’s developments, especially as relates to a specific character.
Meanwhile, CBR spoke with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancheroen about the game-changing episode and the consequences moving forward.
“This is the unique opportunity we have as a show that’s linked to the big movies — in ‘Captain America 2’ we see the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. on such a massive scale, and it would only make sense that what occurs in that movie directly affects our team,” Whedon told CBR. “To have a sleeper agent in the mix all along, and to explore the emotional consequences of that and the fallout from that, I think you’ll see with the shift in dynamic, it’s something that our team will have to come to terms with — not only on an intimate level, but also the entire organization that they’ve dedicated their lives to is now in shambles.”
Brett Dalton spoke with Marvel.com about the episode and his role as Agent Ward as the events of last night’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” episode unfold throughout the rest of the season.
“When you’re living, eating, and on missions with people, you become part of that family unit,” Dalton told Marvel.com. “I think that it probably gets harder and harder to turn that off. I mean I couldn’t imagine doing that myself. Being an embedded spy has to be one of the most difficult jobs I could imagine. Because you have to wear one mask, and not forget about your job, your duty, at the same time. You have to let your guard down in a way, because they need to trust you. But it’s a false sense of letting your guard down.”
Finally, here’s a promo for the next episode, “Providence.”
