In a recent poll conducted by the San Diego Union-Tribune, voters say that Comic-Con is more important to San Diego than the NFL team the Chargers.

Take that professional sports. At long last the nerds have overpowered the jocks.

Both the Chargers and Comic-Con were on the cusp of departing their San Diego home base recently, and although Comic-Con recently reached an agreement that keeps the event in the city until 2018, the Charges might just still pack their bags and balls and head on out -- quite possibly to Los Angeles as team owner Dean Spanos recently met with LA mayor Eric Garcetti. But according to 60 percent of voters, keeping Comic-Con over the Chargers in San Diego is a-okay with them.
