Every week, I will be sharing with you three comic book “easter eggs.” An easter egg is a joke/visual gag/in-joke that a comic book creator (typically the artist) has hidden in the pages of the comic for readers to find (just like an easter egg). They range from the not-so-obscure to the really obscure. So come check ’em all out and enjoy! Also, click here for an archive of all the easter eggs featured so far! If you want to suggest an easter egg for a future column, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org (do not post your suggestion in the comments section!).
Readers Taylor and Andy both recommended this scene from Chris Claremont, Michael Ryan and Rick Ketcham’s New Excalibur #3, where the Juggernaut nearly runs into Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
Reader Anthony points out an enterprising space crew helping out two characters on a mission in the pages of Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker’s Invincible #67…
Finally, a bunch of people have mentioned this one over the years, but reader John was the most recent to suggest it to me, the appearance of Duke from G.I. Joe as a soldier in Amazing Spider-Man #268, written by Tom DeFalco and drawn by Ron Frenz and Joe Rubinstein (note the helicopter insignia to clarify that the resemblance to Duke is not a coincidence)…
Thanks for the great suggestions, folks! Again, e-mail me at email@example.com if you have any other nifty suggestions!
