All throughout July, I will be sharing with you three comic book "easter eggs" a day. An easter egg is an in-joke that a comic book creator (typically the artist) has hidden in the pages of the comic for readers to find (just like an easter egg). They range from the not-so-obscure to the really obscure. So come check 'em all out and enjoy! Also, click here for an archive of all the easter eggs featured so far!

One is a genius, the other is insane

In the pages of The Incredible Hulk #438 AND #439, we see Pinky and the Brain make a little cameo...

Thanks to yo go re for suggesting this one (and especially thanks for e-mailing the suggestion as I asked)

Wish for Death

In Amazing Spider-Man #331, Spider-Man and Punisher team-up to stop a miliary school commandant who is using the school to deal drugs. For whatever reason, the bad guy is made to look like Charles Bronson, including a reference to his famous "Death Wish" films...

Thanks to Chris for the suggestion (although please use e-mail next time)!

Adams-Esque

You might recall that the first easter egg posting included Neal Adams using a special effect to hide the phrase "Hey, a Jim Steranko Effect."

Well, in Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #217, the great Mike Grell did a similar thing in this panel, only instead the explosion reads, "Holy Cow! Dig the Fireworks!”

Thanks to commenter DP for the suggestion (although please use e-mail next time!)

If you can think of an easter egg/in-joke that you would like to see me feature, drop me a line at bcronin@comicbookresources.com! DON'T make suggestions in the comments section, so as to not spoil the surprise for when I end up actually featuring your suggestion.
